Secret World Thirteenth

You’ll be forgiven for not remembering this, but the original The Secret World is about to turn thirteen. Of course, it’s typically the MMORPG's developers who would remind us of these things, generally when they make announcements about in-game events and the like. But, considering the last time Funcom decided to post any news on their site was for the tabletop Kickstarter three years ago, and the last anniversary update was for the fifth anniversary of the reboot the same year… well, you can see why there hasn’t been any news.

That said, the game still has a dedicated community, and they’re the types that have decided that if the devs won’t do it, they will. So, an event is taking place to celebrate the original game’s launch. According to a report on MassivelyOP, Twitch streamer Catboiler is hosting a party in Kingsmouth as well as other group activities like PvP and dungeons.

As you may remember, one of the unique features of The Secret World was the ARG aspect, both leading up to launch and after the game came out. Well, Catboiler also announced he will be launching a fan-made ARG event named “The Last Broadcast”. The event will lead players “into the digital shadows”, and the person who successfully solves the mystery will win a real-world prize.

The event is slated to take place on Thursday, July 3, and will run from 1 pm to 6 pm Pacific time.
