Final Fantasy XIV’s Growing Light Update Has Arrived, Along With A Look At Series 5 Rewards
The full patch notes are now available.
Happy patch day, Final Fantasy XIV players! Patch 6.5 Growing Light has dropped and it’s back to trying to stop Golbez’s plans. As always, the devs have posted the official patch notes, which consist of what we’ve already seen in the preliminary patch notes, as well as things they didn’t want to put out there right away. Mostly, that’s the MMORPG's class adjustments.
Paladin, Reaper, Bard, and Red Mage all got some love in the form of buffs. That should make some of you pretty happy. Interestingly, several non-battle actions have been turned off in battle. If you’ve been desynthing, using aetherial reduction, retrieving or melding materia, or playing with dyes and glamours mid-combat, you’re not going to be able to do that going forward.
This update also includes several UI changes that should make things easier for players trying to navigate the system. As the game keeps going, more and more things are added, so that’s always a good thing. For instance, you can now toggle the display of job or class icons in public areas and instances separately. As always, the full patch notes can be found on the Final Fantasy XIV site. While you’re there, if you’re a PvP fan, you can also check out all the information on Series 5. That includes a look at the new rewards.

Obviously not, but Viking-themed tanks are kinda cool.
The mode is still being played by a good number of players.
