Gameforge Announces Closure Of Kingdom Under Fire II
Operation will cease in late October.
Just a little under two years after the MMORTS launched on Steam, Gameforge has announced they will discontinue operation of Kingdom Under Fire 2. The announcement, on the game’s Steam page, states that the game servers will go offline on October 26, less than a month shy of what would have been its second anniversary. It does not explicitly state the reasons for the closure, although if Jason Winter were to do that digging around in Steam Charts thing he likes to do, I’d be willing to guess he’d tell us exactly why.
What the announcement does state is that the ability to top up premium currency has already been removed from the game. That said, players can continue to use any currency they have purchased until the servers go offline, at which point the company will be “terminating the user contracts”.
