My.Games Touts Warface And Mobile In Q2 Financial Report
As the pandemic rolled in last year, My.Games attributing COVID lockdowns to its improved revenue in the early part of the year. Remarkably, the Russian publisher has managed to keep that momentum going, as its recently released Q2 2021 financial report showed.
Revenue for the first half of 2021 was up 18% over the first half of 2020, and even up very slightly (1%) over the second half of 2020. 74% of that revenue came from outside Russia and the CIS, with main contributors being the United States, United Kingdom, and Germany.
As usual, Warface remains a really big deal for the company, having reached 117.4 million players, with 24 million of those being on consoles and enjoying recently added cross-play functionality. Its addition to the Epic Games Store was labeled as "broadening distribution of this key franchise title."
Conqueror's Blade and Skyforge only get brief mentions, with each title's total players getting mentioned: 3.4 million and 13 million, respectively. Those are up from 3.1 million and 12 million in the Q1 report; again, Armored Warfare doesn't merit a mention.
As with nearly any game company these days, however, mobile is where it's at. That segment accounted for 77% of My.Games' revenue in Q2. On the flip side, Allods Team's Blast Brigade vs. the Evil Legion of Dr. Cread makes its way to PCs and consoles later this year, and the company claims to have "more than 20 titles in the pipeline," some of which are surely non-mobile games, right? Right?
