Genshin Impact Fires Tighnari English Voice Actor Elliot Gindi Following Admission Of Sexual Harassment
They’re now in the process of recasting the role.
Five days after allegations that voice actor Elliot Gindi, known for playing Tighnari in Genshin Impact, had been sexually harassing and attempting to groom minors broke – and his subsequent apology letter – HoYoVerse announced that he will no longer be voicing the character. The developer had been communicating with the agency that handled Gindi’s contracts and following that, has removed him from the cast for “breach of contract”. HoYoVerse did not specify which recording agency or how it will handle the issue.
That’s not all though, according to tweets on the Genshin Impact account once a replacement has been found, they will not only be voicing Tighnari going forward, but also replacing existing in-game lines This will take some time, so if you haven’t done the questlines involving the character yet, don’t be surprised to still hear Gindi’s voice for a while.
At present, we are communicating with the voice recording agency regarding matters of casting and re-recording. We will gradually replace Tighnari's existing in-game voice lines, and issue these updates in the corresponding announcements. Thank you for your support, Travelers!
