After three years away, writer Ian Ryan is returning to the BioWare fold as the lead writer for the company’s free-to-play MMO Star Wars: The Old Republic. Ryan will be returning to the company after stints at a few companies; most recently Ubisoft Montreal where he worked as a scriptwriter.

He revealed the career change via Twitter, highlighting his excitement to return to the Star Wars universe.

When he was last part of the SWTOR team, Ryan worked on Darth Malgus flashpoints, wrote the character Thana Vesh, created content for the Sith Warrior player character, and more.
