Mac Users Playing Final Fantasy XIV Need To Wait To Update To Monterey
There have been problems with the verification process.
If you’re playing Final Fantasy XIV on a Mac and have been waiting for the okay to upgrade to Monterey, you’re going to have to wait a while longer. Originally, Square Enix intended for Mac users to be able to upgrade to the new OS by the end of December. Unfortunately, the game is still unable to support it as issues were detected during the inspection process. The result is that players are just going to have to wait if they want to be sure they’ll be able to play the game. Just hold off until the XIV team is able to add the support.
In better news, if you’ve been playing on the Chaos data center and having issues with being kicked during instanced content and unable to log back in after, that’s been fixed. Square didn’t detail what the exact issue was, only that it was a server program issue and it’s been taken care of.
Finally, the XIV team has apparently been busy swatting RMT and botting accounts. According to a recent post, they’ve terminated over 2,000 accounts for participating in RMT or similar activities and over 300 more accounts for RMT advertising. They’ve also suspended a few accounts for RMT or botting in general.
