Zenless Zone Zero’s Version 2.5 update launched today, bringing with it a few answers and plenty of new questions as the Proxies and their friends continue to deal with the problems in Waifei Peninsula. Ye Shunguang’s condition isn’t getting any better. Her brother’s still missing. The Hollow is behaving oddly. And, it all appears to be tied to the creator. Even Krampus is getting involved – which can be a good thing or a bad thing.

When players log in to the free-to-play action RPG today, they’ll immediately be greeted with a window asking them to claim one of the game’s newest S-Rank characters, Krampus Judge Zhao, along with other useful items. Despite her size, Zhao is a Defense character. She carries a rather large sword and uses the Ice element. She’s also surprisingly quick on her feet, which makes her a fun character to play with.

The other new S-Rank is Ye Shunguang, the game’s first dual-form Void Hunter character. Granted, she’s one of only two Void Hunter characters available in the game. The other is Miyabi. Ye Shunguang is a Honed Edge – Attack character armed with a sword.

In addition to the free character, players will also be granted a free outfit for the character Jane. On January 1, players will also receive 1000 free Polychromes. Players also have the opportunity to pick up another S-Rank character as part of the Filmgoer Thank-You event. This is less of a free gift than a bonus for making purchases in the game’s store.

The update also introduces new enhancements for several of he game’s existing characters as well as quality of life changes.
