Developed by Second Dinner and published under Nuverse and Marvel, the multiplayer collectible card game Marvel Snap has just been announced and will be a new mobile and PC game coming soon. The title has been in development for around four years and is headed by former Activision Blizzard staff.

Marvel Snap plans to deviate from standardized elements of games like Hearthstone. One such change allows both players to play simultaneously instead of the turn-based mechanics in most card games. Marvel Snap also incorporates a "snap" feature that lets players double down on cards if they feel confident in winning. And, without a doubt, the game is sure to have a massive stack of cards based on the long list of characters in the Marvel universe, but you will encounter variations. The team says the game will be free-to-play and that you can collect all cards through gameplay, you're simply trading time for money to get there.

As mentioned earlier, ex-Activision Blizzard devs head the project, with former Hearthstone Game Director Ben Brode and Executive Producer Hamilton Chu taking the lead. From their backgrounds, it's safe to say they're in their element with Marvel Snap and the development studio Second Dinner has a history of successful mobile titles. Outside of them hoping to create the fastest CCG ever, it's hopefully it'll be a solid game with strong systems and may continue to expand on its core gameplay when it releases.

But you can help them mold the game now by signing up for the limited Closed Beta on Android. Those accepted will be notified by email and they must be in select countries/regions such as the United States, Canada, Philippines, Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia, and New Zealand. Also, don't worry about losing anything; the devs will not delete user progress during the Android Closed Beta Test.
