NCSoft Q3 2022: Lineage 2 And Aion Drives Up PC Revenue, Mobile Titles Declined 8% QoQ In Korea
A mix of ups and downs for this quarterly report.
NCSoft has released its Q3 2022 earnings report, detailing a mixture of rising and falling sales for this quarter. The Q3 financial results follow in the footsteps of last quarter's declining earnings.
Most notably, NCSoft's mobile game revenue for Q3 has decreased due to the stabilization of Lineage W and a drop in Lineage 2M player engagement. Collectively, they earned KRW 437.3 billion but saw a reduction of 8% quarter-over-quarter. Unlike the beginning of 2022 - when their mobile sales landed them KRW 640.6 billion - NCSoft continues to face a downturn in mobile profit.
On the bright side, legacy online games Guild Wars 2, Lineage 2, and Aion have helped increase PC sales by 1% quarter-over-quarter, gaining KRW 97.1 billion. Additionally, Q3 overseas and royalty sales reached KRW 228.9 billion, hiking up 40% year-over-year and representing 38% of their total revenue.
