Neverwinter: Underdark Module to Release This Year
Today, the Neverwinter team announced that the eighth module for their free to play MMORPG will release sometime this year. Neverwinter: Underdark follows the pattern of trying to keep Neverwinter connected to the most recent table top modules being released by Wizards of the Coast.
Neverwinter: Underdark will see players travelling to Menzoberranzan where adventurers will fight alongside Drizzt Do’Urden. We will also be adding a new quest line written by Drizzt’s creator, R.A. Salvatore. No other details have been released, but expect the flow of information to start soon.
"But Magicman, if this is module 8 and the previous module was module 6, where's module 7?" Good question. Neverwinter: Strongholds will still be released, obviously prior to Neverwinter: Underdark, and is still set to bring guild housing and other features to the game. GvG? Maybe?
This announcement doesn't diminish the statements made by Lead Scott Shicoff regarding issues with module 6, Elemental Evil. The team is still looking into those issues and will be making updates to that module as soon as they have a clear course of action.
You can check out fan response on the forums here. Fairly or unfairly, there is a bit of "you haven't fixed the previous modules and you now have 2 more announced?"
