The month of September is going to start with a bang for Genshin Impact players. Today, miHoYo held another of their Special Programs -- this time hosted by six of the game's voice artists, including the voices for both Travelers, Amber, Kaeya, Jean, and Barbara. This program highlighted all the new content arriving with Version 2.1 on September 1.

With the focus of 2.1 continuing to remain on Inazuma, players will finally be able to access the region's other two islands, Watatsumi Island and Seirai Island. The first is a more dream-like area while the second is desolate and covered in never-ending storms. The islands will also introduce new bosses, including the Hydro Hypostasis, Thunder Manifestation, and...you might remember her...Signora is back as a new Trounce Domain Boss.

Three characters from the region will be made available as playable characters, including the Raiden Shogun herself as a five-star with an Electro vision wielding a polearm (and occasionally a sword). The other two characters are Sangonomiya Kokomi the Divine Priestess of Watatsumi Island and leader of the resistance, and Kujoy Sara, the general of the Tenryou Commission. Kokomi is another five-star character. She carries a Hydro vision and a catalyst. Sara is armed with an Electro vision and a bow. Both the Raiden Shogun and Sangonomiya Kokomi will feature in story quests.

It's also celebration time in Genshin Impact -- in more than one way. First, Liyue is celebrating the new season with a food-oriented festival, the Moonchase Festival. During this event, the city will be decorated and merchants will be doing their best to sell you their wares. Players can also take part in two related events. One is a massive treasure hunt that ranges from Liyue to Mondstadt to Dragonspine and will reward players with a new (fish-shaped) four-star claymore. The other is a login event that will allow players to accumulate 10 Intertwined Fate.

Speaking of events, there are more and some are not in game. The first is the Spectral Secrets expedition event. Send out characters on expeditions based on spectral sightings. You'll need to pay attention to recommended elements in order to succeed and win rewards.

As for out of game events, miHoYo is hosting the Engraved Wishes web event. During this event, players will be able to send in wishes that will be engraved on "Paimon's Blocks". These approximately 50,000 blocks will then be used to create a 6'5" Paimon statue.

Players will also be treated to an online concert, open to the global audience. The concert will feature players from all over the world playing their version of the music.

Speaking of music. If you watch the Special Program all the way through, there's a performance by the Tokyo Philharmonic.

The Serenitea Pot system is being tweaked as well to allow players to place more items in their teapot. When players place multiple kinds of an item in the same area in the teapot the amount of resources they take up are reduced. This ONLY works in the same area, so placing an item in the upstairs bedroom and another in the main entryway of your mansion won't have the same effect.

Oh. Yes. And fishing... Proper fishing, not blowing up the lake with Klee... is being added. However, players won't just be catching fish to eat. The system will also allow players to catch special fish that they can then take back to their teapot.

And, of course, there were code for goodies throughout the stream. Which we've compiled here, if you're not wanting to watch the whole thing for them.
