Apex Legends Wildcard

Apex Legends is getting a new permanent game mode called Wildcard.

It emphasizes fast-paced, action-first gameplay by removing the usual reliance on looting and replacing it with immediate combat, simplified mechanics, and a high-octane version of Kings Canyon filled with movement options like gravity cannons, zip rails, and jump pads.

Unlike traditional modes in the free-to-play battle royale, Wildcard lets players stack Legends, allowing full squads of the same character for chaotic, unpredictable matches. With only 30 players per match and shorter match lengths, it strips things down to core Legend abilities, streamlining the action. Players start with Self Revive Kits, and respawning is guaranteed as long as one teammate is alive. Additionally, health auto-regenerates after being out of combat, reducing the need for healing items and encouraging aggressive play.

Looting is nearly eliminated too, thanks to auto-looting features and a reduced loot pool. So, no backpacks, knockdown shields, or helmets. Instead, the focus is on kitted weapons that level up through eliminations and specific actions, using a new Weapon Leveling system powered by EVO Orbs.
