New World Forum Post Makes Faction Transfers A Go, Server Transfers Will Have To Wait
Also, there’s a Wheel of Time crossover happening on Twitch.
Good news everyone! New World’s server merges have finally taken place and everyone’s been relocated to their new homes. At this point, players are probably wondering what happens from here. You find yourself on a new server, faction balance is a bit different, perhaps you have your eye on a completely different faction and would like to make that move.
The news here is more of a mixed bag, depending on what you’re hoping to achieve. According to a recent dev post on the game’s forums, faction transfers are a go – although you’ll still have to abide by the normal rules. Basically, you won’t be able to transfer into the most dominant faction. Faction transfer cooldowns have been reset to accomodate this.
As for server transfers. It appears you’re still going to have to wait on those. The reason for this is that there is currently a bug that can trigger when too many housing plots are stacked following mergers or transfers and result in houses being deleted. Obviously, they want to fix this before players start swapping servers on their own and end up without their house.
On a less serious topic, if you’re one of those folks who spend any amount of time watching New World streams on Twitch, you can now get your hands on some Wheel of Time crossover goodies. All you need to do is watch seven hours of content on New World ‘Drops Enabled’ streams between tomorrow December 23 and January 12. Just be sure to start your timer after 9 PM Pacific, as that is when the whole thing kicks off.
As for what you’ll get, there are seven different items to be obtained. They include clothing items and sword skins as well as a crest. Details on each of the items, as well as a rather lengthy list of streamers participating in the drops, are available on the New World site.
