New World Pauses Server Transfers And Preps To Ban Gold Duplicators
Sidebar: Three faction PvP is breaking down on some servers.
The character transfer process in New World was going pretty damn good. The team at Amazon Games transferred over 150,000 characters and while some had a few issues, the vast majority of those transfers went swimmingly.
That said, Amazon Games has still decided to pause server transfers. Why? Well, the few transfers that had issues were resulting in characters having an invalid data state that has to be manually looked up and resolved. After catching up on those, the Amazon Games team saw it was still happening to small numbers of the newly requested server transfers. To address this, New World server transfers are now offline. If you still need to jump ship, you'll want to keep an eye on this announcement post so you get the update when server transfers are made live again.
On this same note, characters stuck in this odd state were apparently able to still transfer gold and materials resulting in some duplication. Amazon Games specifically points out that these are trackable and players taking advantage of the exploit will be banned and the gold or items received deleted.
As if that wasn't enough, the troubles with three faction PvP are starting to pop up in the game as reddit is ABLAZE with allegations of players throwing wars and watching their faction burn to the ground...so yeah...there's that!
