OGame's New Update Introduces 4 Diverse Species
With each lifeform having specific strengths and weakness, which will be the best to explore the cosmos?
Back in April we talked about Gameforge’s space strategy MMO, OGame, and its massive new expansion called Lifeforms. In this new expansion, players can look forward to meeting four interesting species–Humans, Rock’tal, Mechas, and Kaelesh–all of which will be available for free this summer. So without further delay, let’s get into it.
After the discovery of hyperdrive technology, Humans wasted no time in spreading throughout the universe and began settling on countless planets. Humans are known for being reliable traders and have maintained good commercial relations with many different species. Humans are a balanced lifeform with a wide range of skills, including the ability to detect other lifeforms. Humans can also rapidly exploit natural resources and are equipped with competent military technology. While Humans are a diverse and balanced species, they sadly do not enhance any class bonuses.
Following Humans are the stony Rock’tal. With their hard exterior and slow metabolism, this species can make even the most remote and difficult of climates home. With a diet of minerals, the Rock’tal have become specialists in mining ores and minerals to safeguard their very survival. Due to the species overall durability, they can build their buildings quickly, cheaply, and efficiently. Their ships have increased cargo capacities and are efficient in transporting goods, which means it makes sense for the Rock’tal to enhance the Collector class bonus. However, compared to other lifeforms, their population does not grow as quickly and their food production is reduced.
The third lifeform are the Mechas, AI that can replicate themselves faster than any other known lifeform. Using an artificial neural network, Mechas have enhanced capabilities and improved combat strategies. Other species fear the Mechas’ superior military technology for their fleets are swiftly constructed and equipped with sophisticated weapons systems. On top of that, the pilots and soldiers behind these machines are the emotionless Mechas themselves.
Lastly there are the Kaelesh, born in the fabric between space and time. The Kaelesh are renowned for their effective exploration missions and their ability to see far into the depths of space. They are specialists in researching the universe, which can significantly reduce the duration of expeditions and their expeditions are successful more frequently. The Kaelesh have a minimal need for food and they have their Discoverer class bonus enhanced.
With so many species to discover and strategies to be made, OGame's newest expansion, Lifeforms, is sure to provide many hours of exploration as players try their best to conquer the galaxies.
