Omega Strikers' Developer Back With 40-Player Side-Scrolling Platform Battle Royale "Byte Breakers"
An early prototype is available on Steam.
A new battle royale is in the works. This one, a side-scrolling platform game for up to 40 players, is currently an early prototype but developer Odyssey Interactive, previously known for Omega Strikers, is opening it up to players anyway. Of course, they’ll need to request access on Steam.
This is the "next game" the team spoke about when they put Omega Strikers into maintenance mode and referenced players receiving currency in their new game if you supported Omega Strikers.
Based on the bullet points under the game’s description, it seems this battle royale is primarily team-based and features team assist abilities as well as the ability to carry a team member’s body to respawn points. Players on the same team can also share items. Other features include the ability to divebomb during matches, AI “goons” that provide gear when defeated, and more.
To join in the playtest, just head over to the game’s Steam page. Players who do so will get access to the next North American playtest.
