Path of Exile's Synthesis Expansion Goes Live This Afternoon For PC and XB1
Path of Exile's latest expansion, Synthesis, is just a few hours away from going live on PC and Xbox One -- specifically, 12 noon Pacific or 3 p.m. Eastern. The game's long-awaited PlayStation 4 debut will occur later this month, bringing with it the full base game and the latest expansion.
Our preview from last month covered, in depth, everything that's coming to Synthesis. A brief refresher: The new NPC is a ghost named Cavas, who will send you questing through his fragmented memories to stabilize them. As you do so, you'll explore a "game board" of his memories, piecing together the fragments, eventually helping Cavas discover who he was.
In addition to the new content, the Betrayal content from the previous expansion will now be a part of the core game. Two new character archetypes, Chaos and Holy, have also been implemented, and there's an emphasis on improving "hand-casting" in general, to help give those poor overworked totems some time off.
