Cyanide Studio announced this week that their free-to-play turn based strategy project Dogs of War has now entered it's Open Beta phase. DoW features a world based on Aarklash: Legacy, and game play structured around Confrontation, a miniatures based game from Rackham Entertainment.

With classic board game style tactics, players build their armies and take turns marching against one another on the battlefield. As there are many unexpected factors the player will encounter with his own personal army, such as low morale, desertion and theft amongst his soldiers, there is plenty to look after during any down time.

Dogs of War is now available through Steam, and the development team is counting on you to fine-tune all their hard work!

All those argumentation about pay2win is ridiculous. The game has a very good value for free and a better value if you put money in it. Playing it for free doesn't impeach you to enjoy the game at all!

Kids want to play to be congratulated. I don't see it that way and if I continue to enjoy this game as much as I do right now I will probably invest money in it for the multilayer after the release.

Last note: all strategy games are based on probability, probability in games is luck.

i played up to level 9. it's pay2win i'm afraid. there are units in the shop you can only get with real money. and one thing that is very annoying and probably will be the reason i stop playing.... your units get "injuries" if they die in battle. sometimes... but often enough to wear you have to spend 1000 coins just to heal ONE injury (yes you can get multiple injuries on one guy). and seeing how it took me all day to get to level 9 and 4500 coins... i already lost have my coins to heal my guys. i don't like it. the units you can buy with coins are very expensive.

its ok. it not really p2w but you can buy an entire company of troops at max lvl for around 40dollars. I didn't see anything that is only limited to the shop but it has the signs that may change.
