RuneScape Announces Alexa-Based Voice Operated Adventure
RuneScape developer Jagex announced a rather unusual tie-in for the game earlier this week: RuneScape Quests. Quests is a voice-controlled app (known as a Skill) for Amazon's virtual assistant Alexa.
The app allows players to participate in an audio-based adventure game set in the world of the MMO. The first adventure is titled "One Piercing Note" and is adapted from a classic quest in the original game. Players take on the role of an adventurer attempting to solve a murder at the Abbey of St. Elsepth.
To investigate, players will ask and answer questions based on the adventure's audio. Think of it as a bit of Choose Your Own Adventure in audio format.
Of course, to play the adventure, you will need to own an Alexa. If you' have that covered, then you'll want to head to the RuneScape Alexa post for information on how to make it all work.
