RuneScape Haven

Today, Jagex is launching a new region in RuneScape. The company states that the new region, known as Havenhythe, is the “largest area expansion in the MMORPG’s 25-year history”. They also note that it’s designed for a more classic RuneScape experience with fewer gods and world-ending threats.

Today’s launch is only half the region, with the other half coming later this year, but it opens things up for players, offering them new quests as well as the opportunity to level the Hunter skill more with a new level cap of 110. Quest-wise, the update introduces two new main story quests that will provide players with background on the region and those who live there. There’s also a quest in which players will help a kid achieve wizard goals and another that involves housing issues. The hunter update will expand on the Big Game Hunter gameplay, adding new, stealth-focused encounters to the game as players will need to quietly track their prey.

Players can also expect new early-game boss encounters, designed for players in the 40-50 range, in Silverquill. The bosses will introduce combat mechanics like telegraphed attacks and weapon pairing. And one of the boss’ attacks will actually have a role in the problems in Havenhythe.

For those looking for something a bit more casual, fish farming is being introduced. Players will be able to stock pools using starters, and once the pool is full, they can harvest them. Keep in mind, this isn’t something you can just set up and walk away from. Pools will need to be cleaned in order to keep the fish alive.
