The Wait Is Over And Rifts Are Opening: Secrets Of The Obscure Expansion Now Live In Guild Wars 2
ArenaNet also unveiled a roadmap for updates coming later this year.
The next chapter in Tyria unfolds.
Guild Wars 2: Secrets of the Obscure launched today, continuing Tyria's story — moving away from the shadow of the Elder Dragons. Players can reconnect with familiar characters from the MMORPG's past, forge new alliances against the invading Kryptis forces, and explore two aerial-focused zones. The expansion brings weapon access via Weaponmaster Training and a relic system, allowing players to create new build combinations.
Secrets of the Obscure will unfold over three major releases with regular content updates, additional rewards, weapon proficiencies, and more planned for the future. The 11th anniversary of Guild Wars 2 will also be celebrated, accompanied by community events and merchandise. There’s a summer/fall roadmap too, outlining upcoming updates, including new maps, rewards, and a weapon proficiency beta-event.
