CCP Games has launched the EVE Operation: Epiphany event in EVE Online. Formerly known as Arc events, this operation introduces The Deathless, challenging players to uncover hidden stargates by solving clues. Discovering these gates grants access to uncharted regions in the game, with a reward of 50 billion ISK and recognition for the first player to locate each gate. The event culminates in revealing the upcoming major content expansion for the MMORPG, scheduled for later this year.
The concept was introduced during EVE Fanfest 2022, allowing players to influence the game's storyline and shape the universe of New Eden through their actions and achievements. CCP Games emphasizes that players are central to EVE Online, and their engagement with these events not only impacts gameplay but also drives changes in the game's narrative.
"Capsuleers are the lifeblood of EVE Online,” says Bergur Finnbogason, the game’s creative director. “We are constantly pushing the boundary with what’s possible in how much freedom and control we give our players over its vast universe.
“Through EVE Operations, Capsuleers affect more than gameplay; they affect the story and become the driving force of change in New Eden.” He added, "There are few things more exciting than finding an unexplored section of space in New Eden.”
“Its untouched resources and unclaimed territory are there for the taking for those who are brave enough to solve ‘Epiphany’s’ mysteries,” Finnbogason continued. “Our players love a challenge, and this is right up their alley.”
Furthermore, as part of the game's 20th-anniversary celebrations, CCP's EVE Fanfest 2023 is happening from September 21 to 23, with tickets already sold out. The event promises to bring news, surprises, and community-focused moments for fans.
