AdventureQuest Worlds: Unity, a spiritual reboot of the iconic side-scrolling 2-D MMORPG, is planned to release on PC, mobile devices, and Steam Deck in 2023. Developer Atrix Entertainment has been diligently working to make the game cross-platform compatible for PC and mobile, and now finally went gold and debuted AQW: Unity's release.

According to the game's Steam page, it's an "anything-goes fantasy MMORPG," harkening back to the original MMO. There will be weekly updates, 100+ classes, 10,000+ weapons, juicy storylines, and complete freedom to play and be whatever a player wants. Atrix is rebuilding the game from the ground up, converting every map, monster, armor, item, and cutscene from the original game. This new version will have 60+ frames per second, is cross-platform, and even lets you log in to an existing hero from the original web game to start your adventure.

AdventureQuest Worlds: Unity can now be wishlisted on Steam, and there's some planned testing on the horizon thanks to Steam's "Test Play" feature. In the Atrix Entertainment announcement blog, we also learned the devs are planning to open a Kickstarter to fund the project. Those who back the Kickstarter will get early access to the game. However, fans will have to wait for more news on when the crowdfunding campaign begins.
