Star Trek Online First Halloween Event

After almost twelve years of exploring space and dealing with aliens, Star Trek Online players are going to experience something completely new. Halloween has come to the universe. Okay, well…not Halloween as we think of it. There won’t be trick-or-treating. There will, however, be two of the spookiest aliens in the Star Trek universe to contend with – the Old Ones and the Devidians, and an ancient castle.

In the three-week-long Fall of the Old Ones event, players will need to go to Castle Pyris on Pyris VII, to thwart the Devidians. It seems they discovered a race known as “the Old Ones” – originally seen in the TOS episode “Catspaw” – are hanging out in the Milky Way and using a powerful device known as a Transmuter to perform a variety of feats while doing a bit of research – again. The Devidians immediately decided they wanted this device capable of mind control, illusion, and teleportation, and it’s up to the players to keep them from getting it, because we all know how that will turn out. Of course, we have to accomplish our task and make it out of there alive.

During the event, players will earn progress toward a grand prize: the Transmuter Wand Universal Kit Module and the Old One Vanity Pet. The first character on a player’s account to obtain these will also receive 2500 Dilithium Ore and 3 Featured Episode Reward Boxes. To get your hands on these items, you’ll need 14 daily progress – obtained by playing the Task Force Operation: Cat’s Tale once per day. Since the event lasts for three weeks, players who decide to do more than that will receive extra Dilithum Ore for their participation, beginning at 8,000 and scaling by 1,000 per day with a cap of 50,000 per day.
