Star Trek Online Drops Mini-Documentary On The Origins Of The Federation To Celebrate 16th Anniversary
Fans of the IP will love it.

As Arc Games celebrates the 16th anniversary of Star Trek Online, the developer of the free-to-play MMORPG is doing some really cool things for it. Of course, there are the standard in-game activities and the like. But you may not have expected the short documentary. This isn’t a documentary about the game, but rather the history of Starfleet and the four different types of ships that played a major part in the organization’s earliest days.
The 14-minute video is all done in universe and features “historical” archive footage. Some is taken from the show Star Trek: Enterprise. The video also features guest commentary from humans and Vulkans.
The four ships discussed in the video: the NP Miracle Worker Light Escort, the Kumari Pilot Light Battlecruiser, the NV Multi-Mission Temporal Cruiser, and the Suurok Intel Science Destroyer, represent the three races involved in the earliest days of the Federation’s founding. (They also happen to be the four ships available in the “Enterprise” bundle currently available on PC and dropping on Consoles on April 7.) It’s a cool video – particularly if you’re a Star Trek fan, and even if you don’t play the game.
