Star Trek Online Is Giving Players The Jellyfish Alien From Encounter At Farpoint As A Playable Ship
The Cnidarian Defender is a reward for the summer event.
Summer in Star Trek Online means a trip to Risa, silly missions, and a chance to get your hands on some cool goodies. This year, players are getting a special treat. The developers have seen fit to add the Cnidarian Defender as one of the event’s rewards. This special ship is more than just a ship. It’s a sentient being – the one seen in Star Trek: The Next Generation’s pilot episode "Encounter at Farpoint."
In the episode, the creature had the ability to change forms into structures like cities. It’s also capable of taking the form of a ship. Those are the forms the crew sees the most. It’s not until the end that they get to see them in their true forms – an alien with the appearance of a sea creature floating through space. Now, players can pilot these beings, which have offered their services to Starfleet.
Of course, the ship isn’t the only reward players can expect from the summer event. Players will also be able to pick up a new kit frame, kit module, powerboard, floater, costumes, and more.
