The Finals Season 9 Reveal

This past weekend, at DreamHack Stockholm, The Finals’ Season 9 was revealed. The new season is inspired by China, both its past and future, and features gear and weapons inspired by Chinese history, folklore, and legends, combined with modern and future aesthetics. Season 9, titled Dragon Rising, will also introduce a new map to the shooter, Fangwei City. This megacity is filled with skyscrapers, temples, gardens, and everything else you’d expect from such a setting. The skyscrapers and other buildings mean that players will have the opportunity to make use of verticality in combat.

Season 9 will also introduce a new mode: Point Break. This is an 8v8 attack-vs-defend mode that takes place in waves. The frontline can move around during the match, meaning players will need to work to hold the line.

World tour is being updated as well and will allow players to see all their progress in one place. A map will also show the full seasonal path, detailing events, sponsors, and more. Other updates include changes to Competitiv and Ranked, with a unified reward structure that will allow players to earn coins toward their end-of-season rewards. There are quality-of-life chances as well. More details are available in the video below.
