The Ill Omens Skirmish Event Returns To Lord Of The Rings Online, But It Brings Changes This Year
The 5th Season of the Legendary Items Reward Track is almost here as well.
Today, The Lord of the Rings Online dropped update 34.2, making some general changes to the game – such as updating text in tooltips, or adjusting lore-master skills. It also introduces updates for some localization translations – mostly specific quests and items. And, it makes improvements to quests and adventure areas. Notable changes here include increased drops for specific chests, ensuring players no longer get stuck in Steepset while using slow travel between Gloomingtarn and the Pits of Stonejaws, and correcting an erroneously placed hotspot.
The bigger news in this update is the return of Ill Omens. The event kicks off tomorrow and runs until February 28. It adds new rewards as well. Players must speak to Nedda Pinleaf in one of three locations in order to start the event, in which they’ll kill Harbingers of the dead to earn Tokens of Ill Omen that can be exchanged for rewards.
There are some changes to this event version over previous iterations. First, Tokens of Ill Omens are now account-bound. Second, the event now includes Doom of Caras Gelebren and adds a quest specific to it to Skirmish Assault: Strongholds of the Free Peoples. There are new cosmetic pets available as well as some other goodies. As always, full details can be found in the patch notes on the LotRO site.
