Sixteen years in and things are still happening in The Lord of the Rings Online. In fact, it looks like there’s plenty to look forward to over the next year – at least if the preview post on the LotRO site is anything to go by. The post offers players a look at what’s to come in the new year. The post outlines things by the quarter, beginning with a new instance cluster, class updates, power revamps, and more during the Winter (Q1). Each quarter boasts at least seven goals, including seasonal events.

To kick things off, the devs are starting with Carn Dum, where evil denizens are fighting for control. It’s up to the players to stop them before a leader rises to the top. This new content features a new end-game instance cluster with two 3-player instances, a 6-player instance, a new raid, and more. The Delving system is being expanded as well – into the Library and School at Tham Mirdain.

In the first release of the new year, Captain and Warden will be getting updates. Power will receive a rework, and the crafting system is being revised. As we said, there’s a lot happening. Full details are available on the LotRO site.
