This week's Destiny 2 highlights include updates on Zavala's journey, Exotic Mission Rotator details, a recap of Season 22 changes, age gating updates, the return of the Grandmaster PsiOps Battleground on the Moon, and a reminder about the August 22 Showcase, along with The Witch Queen joining PlayStation Plus.
In a heartfelt tribute, Bungie acknowledges the passing of Lance Reddick, the voice actor for Commander Zavala in the shooter. Bungie introduces Keith David as the new voice behind Zavala, expressing excitement about working with him to continue the Commander's narrative in The Final Shape and beyond.
The upcoming Season 22 of Destiny is set to introduce the Exotic Mission Rotator, a dynamic system aimed at housing Seasonal Exotic missions, revitalizing past favorites, and offering new rewards. This feature will include craft-able Exotic weapons, Normal and Legendary difficulty settings for each mission, thematic legacy Seasonal rewards, and advancing narratives.
Bungie also details plans for Season 22, including changes to Exotics to make them more viable and a solution to counter Barricades in PvP. Additionally, the studio discusses Age Gating changes for all Bungie services, necessitating users to provide their birth date and country of residence when accessing these services.
Furthermore, players are challenged to face the PsiOps Battleground on the Moon in Destiny 2's Grandmaster playlist. The announcement builds up to the 2023 Destiny 2 Showcase, scheduled for August 22, which will mark the culmination of the Light and Darkness saga. Moreover, The Witch Queen expansion will be available in the August 2023 PlayStation Plus Game Catalog for six months.
