War Thunder Lands A Direct Hit With Latest Update
Over three dozen new vehicles and two new maps.
Gaijin Entertainment is hoping its latest update for War Thunder is a hit -- a Direct Hit, that is. That's the name of yesterday's content drop, and it adds a bunch of new vehicles, new maps, new visual effects, and more.
The new war machinery added in this update include 17 aircraft, such as the Swedish JA37C Jaktviggen, a premium interceptor fighter, and the Russian MiG-27M with its guided bombs; a dozen new ground vehicles; and 15 new ships, including the heavy cruiser USS Pittsburgh. That one was humorously dubbed the "'longest ship in the world,' after its bow broke off during a tropical storm, which was later salvaged, thousands of miles away."
The two new maps are Breslau and Spaceport -- and no, that second one isn't on the moon but based around a terrestrial launch site. Direct Hit also makes several graphics changes, including three times as many polygons for the iconic B-17 bombers, and support for version 2.2 of NVIDIA DLSS.
