Apex Legends Restoring Lost Progress

Apex Legends developer Respawn is apologizing to players today after it was reported that players were losing their progress and seeing account resets. The devs acknowledged the progress loss yesterday morning and began investigating. Today the servers were taken offline to deploy a fix.

Respawn is still working to restore any lost progress from yesterday, but the shooter's servers are currently back online and there should be no further issues going forward. Respawn asks Apex Legends players to "hang tight" while they work on restoring the lost progress.

“We messed up! In order to resolve an account data loss issue, we are temporarily taking the @PlayApex servers offline,” Respawn Tweeted. “Fear not! We are deploying a fast fix to restore progress and content to affected accounts, but players will not be able to connect to the game during this time.”

Servers are currently back up, but the Ranked Split has been delayed.

“As a result of this evening’s rollback, we’re working to restore progress made throughout the course of yesterday,” they went on to Tweet. “Additionally, we’ve had to postpone the new Ranked Split and will roll it out at a later date — more info to come.”

Players report major progress loss and account resets, with some complaining of having their Ranked rating reset, while others say they've lost hundreds of levels. It's not a good look for an online game that recently had a major pro event hacked.

No time frame has been given as of the time of this writing as to when the Ranked Split will begin.

For those affected by the loss of progress, it sounds like you should be getting back whatever progress you lost... eventually.
