World Of Warships Kicks Off $5 Steam Wallet Giveaway For Their Fifth Anniversary On The Platform
New players that earn the "Warrior" achievement before December 17 will win $5.
World of Warships has turned five on Steam. To celebrate the occasion, developer Wargaming is kicking off a $5 Steam Wallet and free DLC packs giveaways, a limited-time exclusive event for randomized rewards, Steam-themed cosmetics, and more.
The $5 giveaway is exclusive to newer players. They will have between November 18 and December 17 to unlock the "Warrior" achievement in-game for a chance to earn free money for their Steam account. The achievement will require players to win 50 random battles. Those who accomplish the challenge on or before the end date will see the Steam Wallet credits added to their account within a week.
The other giveaway - also aimed at new players but available for everyone - offers two free DLC packs valued at $30. Players can grab the Dreadnought Starter Pack and Steam Anniversary Party Kit featuring different prizes. The former grants two Tier III Premium ships (one battleship and cruiser), three days' worth of Premium Account status, two Port slots, seven Steam camouflages, and economic bonuses. The latter gives a Steam container, five Steam camouflages, a unique "Piece of Cake" patch, and access to a special mission to earn a Steam flag and five additional Steam camouflages.
World of Warships has also announced an exclusive Treasure Hunt event available for Captains in the United States and Canada in-game. Wargaming has split the event into two parts.
The first, going by "The Hunt," runs for four weeks, requiring players to complete daily and weekly tasks to earn Treasure Tokens exchangeable for a randomized pool of rewards. "The Supergame" follows the first part, where Wargaming will host massive random giveaways on Twitch. Participants with at least six Treasure Tokens could have a shot at gaining valuable physical gear.
Elsewhere during the anniversary, players could get the winning player-designed camouflage from the June Steam-themed battleship competition. Created by Jav9th, battleship King George V is unlockable alongside other camouflages, credits, economic bonuses, and a Super Container across a seven-staged marathon. Missions for the marathon can be completed on Brawl, Operations, and Ranked with ships ranging from Tier V-X.
