5 MMORPGs With Stunning Views
Virtual Tourism! There's some beautiful scenery in these MMORPG worlds.
If taking in gorgeous scenery and stunning views is your idea of a good time, then this list is for you. We're looking at five of the best MMORPG games for phenomenal views and places to view them. Some of these are the standard-bearers for graphics in the genre, while some are a little older but still very pretty to look at. Let's get started.
Guild Wars 2
Guild Wars 2 has a gorgeous watercolor-style world with plenty of breathtaking landscapes to behold, so many, in fact, that the game features Vista points in order to take it all in. Viewing these Vista points is part of map completion and well worth your time as they give awesome views of the world of Tyria.
Lord of the Rings Online
Whether you're seeing the vast expanse of Lake Evendim for the first time, exploring the dark halls of Moria, or coming into the golden forests of Lothlorien, Lord of the Rings Online has some of the most beautiful views in MMORPGs. Sure, this one is a little dated graphically compared to others on this list, but that hasn't stopped the devs from creating gorgeous landscapes to take in.
Black Desert Online
Everything in Black Desert Online is really pretty. From the characters themselves to the world surrounding you, there's no doubt that BDO is one of the most stunningly gorgeous games out there. Just stop and smell the roses sometime and you'll be greeted with a gorgeous world with wonderful views.
World of Warcraft
World of Warcraft has really done a phenomenal job of updating its graphics throughout the years and creating new zones that are absolutely beautiful. The Dragonflight zones in particular are testaments to just how far the world-building in the game has come, and taking in the views while riding on your dragon mount is hard to beat.
New World
New World boats a beautiful game world with plenty of phenomenal views to take in. Standing in the Brimstone Sands zone, you can see the giant pyramid from across the desert which makes for an awe-inspiring sense of scale in the world. Combine the views with the fantastic sound design and you've got an ambiance that is just right for taking in the world around you.
And those are our five favorite games to take in the views. Magicman wants to toss an honorable mention to Final Fantasy XIV which even has its own "SIghtseeing Log" to check out.
