A Genshin Impact Poll Asked Japanese Players Who Their Favorite Archon Is, Any Bets On Who Won?
Take a guess.
One of the great things about video games with lots of characters is that there’s generally someone for everyone. Genshin Impact is one of those games that has a lot of characters for players to love, so of course people have to pit them against each other – especially the Archons. While there are technically seven Archons living in Teyvat, players have only met four of them so far. Venti, Zhongli, The Raiden Shogun, and Nahida all represent different countries in Teyvat inspired by places in the real world.
Recently a poll asked Japanese players who their favorite Archon is and, honestly, the answer isn’t all that shocking. As mentioned, each region in the game is inspired by real-world regions. Mondstadt is basically Europe, Liyue is based on China, Inazuma is based on Japan, and Sumeru is inspired by rain forests and deserts, mostly likely in South America.
Fans of the game have known for some time that Chinese players hold a special place in their hearts for Zhongli, the Archon of Liyue, so it’s probably no surprise that Japanese players are partial to the Raiden Shogun.
Of course, regional inspiration may not be the only reason players love the Raiden Shogun. She’s a pretty solid choice in combat as well.
