Apex Legends Joins The Nintendo Switch Lineup, Complete With Free Levels And A Legendary Skin
If you've been waiting to play Apex Legends on Nintendo Switch, you can log in on the console starting today. Respawn Entertainment released the official port on Nintendo's platform earlier today, giving Switch players the opportunity to play along with those already playing on PC and the other consoles.
The Switch launch coincides with the Chaos Theory Collection Event, a limited time event that starts today. This event introduces a new town takeover feature featuring Caustic as well as the Ring Fury Escalation Takeover mode.
The Nintendo Switch version of Apex Legends was developed with the help of Panic Button, a team known bringing ports to the console. It features gyroscope aiming using the Switch controllers and is optimized to provide 30fps at 720p while docked. Handheld mode resolution is 576p. As with other platforms, Switch players can expect their updates to drop along with everyone else, meaning they won't be left behind content-wise.
To kick things off properly, Respawn is gifting Switch players a Legendary Pathfinder skin, 30 free levels on the Season 8 battle pass, and double XP when they log in during the first two weeks following launch.
