Apex Legends Rings In The Chinese New Year With The Celestial Sunrise Collection
Players can start collecting the limited-time Legendary skins today!
Celebrate the new year with Apex Legends’ Celestial Sunrise Collection Event today. Players will be able to collect 24 limited-time cosmetics with Chinese New Year-themed Legendary skins for Octane, Pathfinder, Caustic, Ash, and more. Those lucky enough to unlock all 24 cosmetic skins before the event ends will automatically receive “Jadeite Retribution”, a new Reactive Peacekeeper skin. This will be the first time that a reactive weapon skin can be obtained outside of a battle pass, so players won’t want to miss this rare opportunity.
The Celestial Sunrise Collection Event also features a special reward track that will allow players to earn up to 1,600 points per day through challenges. These challenges stack with a player's Battle Pass, so they can complete multiple challenges at once. Players who are able to obtain 5,000 event points by completing event-specific challenges will unlock all free rewards. Additional rewards can be earned by performing specific tasks over the course of the event.
The event trailer also showcases the debut of (previously leaked) Hardcore Royale, a game mode that features a limited HUD, restricted armor (white armor only), no helmets, and the closing ring will start at max damage. Sounds like fun, right?
Romance will soon be in the air following the conclusion of Celestial Sunrise on Feb 7. The new limited-time mode–just in time for Valentine’s Day–is called Date Night. This duos-only mode will have players queueing up with that special someone as they try to be the last two standing.
Date Night introduces a new healing mechanic that will have any healing item displaying an area around a player’s Legend. If a player’s partner is in the area when the healing is finished, they will also receive the effects of the item. Players can also take hold of the limited-time weapon; The Heart Stealer. This romantic Bocek variant will heal a player the percentage of the damage they dish out. And get this, just like the healing items; any healing from The Heart Stealer will also be given to a player’s duo if they’re close by. Remember, sharing is caring!
