Blizzard has come forward with a "Thank You, Heroes" blog on its Overwatch 2 website to apologize for the bumpy launch of its hero-shooter. Through the DDoS attacks, busted in-game chat bugs leading players to purchase skins on accident, and many more, Blizzard presses on and promises upcoming goodies for its gamer audience.

To make up for the lost time in long queues and stability issues during gameplay, Blizzard plans to run several 2x Match XP event weekends. They will "confirm the specific dates for these soon," which may or may not come this month. What is coming soon is a chance for players to gain a new Cursed Captain Reaper Legendary skin and a Health Pack Weapon Charm. By logging in from October 25 to the end of Season One on December 5, fans can add these to their collection of in-game items.

While it is nice to hear players are getting goodies, there's always not-so-great news in Overwatch 2 land. Fans discovered that when consoles crossplay with PC players, aim assist is disabled entirely. Reddit user KellySweetHeart announced their friends on consoles "suffer a significant dip in their aim consistency because their aim assist is removed in PC Pool."

It's no secret that PC players perform better for these aim-sensitive games, which KellySweetHeart says "hits like a double whammy" for console fans wanting an equal playing field. The Redditor hopes Blizzard will "reverse this" decision to disable aim assist during PC/console crossplay matches.
