Brian Holinka, World Of Warcraft’s Former PvP Design Specialist, Joins League Of Legends MMO Team
Something new to speculate about.

A small bit of interesting news about Riot’s League of Legends MMO dropped today. No, this wasn’t a big announcement of any type. Rather, it was a change to a LinkedIn profile and a post on Twitter. And the news is the same: Former World of Warcraft dev Brian Holinka is now a member of the League of Legends MMO dev team. Specifically, he’s the Principal Game Designer as of today.
Of course, there isn’t much information beyond that. But we do know that Holinka was the lead PvP designer for World of Warcraft in his Blizzard days. So, it’s possible that’s the kind of expertise he’s bringing to the game. Or, his work could be much more general in nature. Either way, what we do know is that development on the League MMO is still moving along. At least enough to warrant hiring a Principal Game Designer anyway.
Perhaps, with this being Summer Game Fest week, we’ll get lucky, and some news on the game will be shared on Friday. Though, we might have to get really, really lucky for that.
