Daybreak Announces Price Increases For Lord Of The Rings Online’s VIP Membership
The 3-month, 6-month, and 12-month subs are all being changed.

If you’re one of the people who pay for Lord of the Rings Online’s VIP Membership. You may end up paying more in the future if you’re not careful. Yesterday, a post went up on the free-to-play MMORPG’s site announcing price adjustments to the 3-month, 6-month, and 12-month subs. The changes, which take place on July 1, will increase the monthly subscription rate by $3 to $4, depending on which sub you have.
For example, the 3-month sub in the US will increase from $29.97 to $41.97. The lower rate was originally equivalent to $9.99 a month. Now it will be $13.99. On the highest end, the 12-month sub jumps from $99.99 annually to $143.88. That equates to a monthly increase of $3.66. The post includes charts detailing the increases in a dozen different currencies, so you can look there to see how things shake out where you’re at.
Interestingly, there will be no changes to the 1-month rate. For those of us in the US, that’s $14.99, which means that players will only be saving a dollar a month on the 3-month plan. That said, if you’re already on one of the multi-month plans, you’ll keep your current subscription rate. Just don’t let that sub drop, or you’ll probably end up paying the increased price when you try to resub.
