WuWa Cyberpunk Lucy

After a long wait, the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners collaboration event is about to kick off in Wuthering Waves. The event brings two members of the Edgerunner family to the free-to-play open-world action RPG: Lucy and Rebecca. Both characters are designed to show off the personalities and abilities viewers are familiar with from the show, with guns and hacking being part of their in-game mechanics. They’re also designed to work together, their abilities complementing and enhancing each other.

While players will be able to get Rebecca for free through the “Instant Flashlight” event, additional versions of her will require players to roll for them in special Convenes. These same special Convenes are where players will obtain Lucy as well. The devs have introduced special currencies just for them. To roll for either character, players will need “Dreamcatcher Tide”. To roll for their weapons, “Shadowforge Tide” will be required. Both currencies are obtainable through various events tied to the collaboration. Although you still have the option to spend money on gift packs or exchange Astrites to obtain them as well.

As part of the collaboration, Kuro has introduced a special event titled “Sweetdream Tuning”. During this event, players will be rewarded for hitting Convene milestones with rewards like additional collaboration-specific currency or Selectable Waveband Chests for Lucy and Rebecca. Just like the Convenes, the event will run for the duration of the 3.4 update.

Honestly, it’s a good thing special currencies are being used for Lucy and Rebecca, because I know people have been waiting for Lucilla and her Convene drops on June 13. At the same time, Cartethyia will be getting a rerun.

As for the update’s story content, well, there are a couple of things happening here. First, Lahai-Roi is dealing with the fallout from the Exostrider being locked outside the Extostrider Gate. For a long time, that has been the focus of the academy, and now the people with the money apparently think they have better places they could be spending it. Obviously, Lucilla wants to keep the academy up and running and not fail her students.

Second, there’s the problem of our new visitors. There has to be a reason the duo made the jump from Night City to Solaris. We’re obviously going to have to figure out what’s going on there. The connection also brought a version of Night City created from Lucy’s memories, and it seems that’s where we’ll be going to solve the mystery. If you watch the stream, you’ll notice we’ll be engaging in some very Cyberpunk activities, including the minigame from 2077.

Of course, the update includes several events for players to take part in, including another Illusive Realm event and the return of Startorch Racing – with multiplayer, this time. A new Tactical Hologram has been introduced as well. And, of course, there are some Edgerunners-related activities that will reward the collab-exclusive currencies we all need to obtain Lucy and Rebecca, as well as other items.

On the optimizations front, Version 3.4. Weekly challenges have been streamlined with the addition of a Weekly Activity tab, meaning we won’t have to look in several different places to figure out what needs doing. Complete the weekly activities in the tab and earn points to unlock weekly rewards. In addition to “Fantasies of the Thousand Gateways”, “Phantasma Dreamland: Rhapsody” has been added as a weekly activity. So, now in addition to beating up Scar once a week, we’ll be visiting Phrolova to play a game. Looks like I have motivation to finish the event that’s been sitting there for a while.

In addition, the Ascension Planner has been updated to allow players to set more precise goals and easily see all required materials. To help beginning players, the skill upgrade window has been improved with the game highlighting the highest and second-highest priority skills. So those tight on materials don’t have to guess.

As always, the stream had codes for players. Use these before they expire on May 31: STRANGEVISITORS, BEYONDTHEDOOR, and SAYCHEESE.
