Suit Up, Guardians! Destiny 2: Lightfall Launches Today

Destiny 2’s seventh major expansion, Lightfall, is live today with a scheduled start time of 9 AM PST/ 12 PM EST, barring delays. Lightfall will mark the end of the current story arc in the shooter game, which has been building up for years, and will also add a new location, campaign, fresh quests, a new raid, and much more.

Destiny 2: Lightfall did have a small hiccup before its official release already, as the preload of Lightfall had been pushed out early in some regions. Bungie’s support Twitter account addressed the issue after this preload bug later prevented players from logging in to the game.

Lightfall will introduce The Witness into the game, a dangerous and much-feared adversary that will put all Guardians to the test. In addition to the new campaign, Destiny will be getting much harder with changes to Grandmaster Nightfalls, Vanguard Ops, and more. The game will also be receiving a wide range of quality-of-life changes like the new Guardian Ranks progression system. Players who didn't preload the latest expansion will have to do so before entering the game. Also, Guardians should keep in mind that there may be server issues, as a new expansion is sure to bring a flood of new and returning players to the game.

Destiny 2: Lightfall is now (or soon to be if they have issues) available for PC, PlayStation, and Xbox consoles, but don't forget to brush up on those patch notes!
