Destiny 2's Crossplay Is Closer Than Ever, Beta Testing Starts Next Week
Here's some good news, Bungie's making progress on Destiny 2 crossplay. In fact, they're to the point that they've planned a beta test, running from May 25 through May 27. The test will be a focused one and restricted to match-made activity. Players won't be able to form fireteams or send invites to friends.
On the other hand, the test will be open to players on the PlayStation and Xbox platforms as well as Steam and Stadia. Those who participate in the test and complete three strikes in the Vanguard Strikes Cross Play Beta playlist will receive the "Stars Crossed" emblem.
Should everything go as planned, Bungie plans to ship Cross Play in Season 15.
In additional news, the Vault of Glass content launches tomorrow morning, May 22, at 10 AM Pacific time. At that point, Contest Mode will be active and rewards will be available to those willing to take it on. The Contest Mode will be available for 24 hours and players will need to be at 1300 Power to be at the cap for encounters. Clearing the raid with Contest Mode active is required to access the new Challenge Mode. More information on the Vault of Glass and crossplay, as well as some new shop items, is available in the latest This Week at Bungie post on the developer's site.
