Final Fantasy XIV Special Site Update

We have about five days left until Final Fantasy XIV’s 6.2 update launches introducing all kinds of new content. As we draw nearer to the patch drop, the XIV team continues to update the related special site. Obviously, if you’ve looked before, there are plenty of things there you’ll have already seen, but there is still more.

The site has been updated to include information on the continuation of Tataru’s Grand Endeavor coming in 6.2. It’s time to visit some Sky Pirates. (I’ve missed those guys.) It also offers a glimpse at more of the "Somehow Further Hilidibrand Adventures" and the Manderville Weapons quests, both coming in 6.25. We’re headed back to the moon (Is anyone really surprised by this?) and Godbert is wearing clothes (We’re all surprised by this.). The general Hildibrand storyline will drop people into the story content required to do the relic weapon quests, so if you’re one of the folks who haven’t done any of the Hildy stuff, you might want to get on it.

For the tribe quest crowd, the Omicron quests will drop in 6.25 as well. If you missed the Live Letter, you probably haven’t seen the rewards from this – or well, reward, since all they really showed off was the space jellyfish. You’ll need to have a gatherer leveled up for this. That is, if you want to help the little bar at the end of the universe named Last Dregs get up and running.

Under the system sections, the page now provides a bit of information on the official release of Adventurer Plates. That’s kind of it, but that’s okay because there’s also new information under the Items part of the page and new fashion accessories are on the way. More importantly, we’re getting special actions with them. Based on the gif you’ll find there, it looks like the parasol now allows for a dance and song number. We can’t wait to see a recreation of Singing in the Rain in Limsa. (Maybe this means we’ll be able to sit down while wearing wings soon???)

As for other items, the site now displays the gear players can get with Allagan Tomestones of Causality, the new crafted gear, and some new mounts and minions. The mounts are obviously from Island Sanctuary. I’m not so sure about the minion. It seems likely, though.
