Get Ready To Raise The Dead With RuneScape’s 29th Skill
The new skill is one of the many things the devs have planned for next year.
Break out your omnomicon…. Er… Necronomicon, rather. It looks like the ability to bring back the dead will soon be available to RuneScape players. We don’t know precisely how soon. In fact, the only information that’s been provided is a very brief trailer showing some runes and the word “Necromancy”.
The trailer is part of a bigger teaser for 2023 content that offers a look at an upcoming event, new storyline content, a new training method, and new quests. During the event, death costs will drop quite a bit – as much as 80%. It varies depending on item value ranges. As it turns out, death costs are where the bulk of the money is spent in RuneScape. It accounts for 62% of the gold removed from the game, so this should be a pretty important change for players.
The story content will be taking players to scenic Fort Forinthry. Okay, well, maybe it’s not as scenic as it once was – what with being decimated by the God Wars and all. Still, it’s the next place on the agenda, so pack appropriately. This will also be where players find their new quests and challenges – including a murder mystery that players will help solve with their “wannabe-detective butler”… Isn’t it generally the butler who turns out to be the murderer?
Finally, a new training method for the Construction skill is being added. It involves building a fort. Said fort will include a chapel, a workshop, a command center, and a town hall.
