Grinding Gear Games Announces Free Weekend For Path Of Exile 2
Players can earn rewards that will carry over into live games.

Right now, Grinding Gear Games’ action RPG Path of Exile 2 lives in a weird state where it’s free-to-play, but not yet. (Ah, the joys of early access.) And that’s why we’re posting about a free weekend in a free-to-play game.
The three-day event kicks off on Friday, December 12, and runs until December 15. This is all Pacific time. This is all to celebrate the launch of The Last of the Druids, so those taking advantage of the weekend will be able to check out the game’s latest content. At the same time, players can play in the Fate of the Vaal League and earn some cosmetics. Don’t worry, when the weekend is over, progress will be saved, and those items will be available to you when the game officially launches. So, if the free weekend doesn’t convince you to buy into early access, you’ll be fine.
Details on how that will work are available in the announcement on the PoE2 page. The FAQ also offers information on things like redeeming keys and how they work, as well as whether PS Plus or Xbox Game Pass Core is required to play with others on console. The answer to the last is “no”.
