Guild Wars 2 Drops A Surprise Fractal Incursion Event And Kicks Off New Push PvP Mode
The Fractal Incursion bonus event will introduce new players to fractals while offering rewards for everyone.
When you’re a newer player in an MMORPG, a lot of content can seem downright overwhelming. Of the types of content MMOs offer, PvP can easily seem like the most daunting. So, it’s always a good idea for devs to offer players a way to ease themselves into it. And it’s all the better if there are rewards involved.
That is exactly what players of Guild Wars 2 got today with the surprise drop of the Fractal Incursion bonus event. The event, which is slated to last for about a month, ending on October 7, is designed to introduce new players of the free-to-play game to fractals. That said, they’re not solely intended for new players. Those who have been doing fractals for a while will have a reason to take part as well, as there are new rewards to earn – such as a pair of legendary gloves.
This event introduces a quicklplay mode to fractals, automatically pairing players with others and dropping them into a curated list of scale 1 fractals. Players can queue solo or in groups of various sizes, and the quickplay will handle everything else.
During the event, players will also have the opportunity to take on Fractal Bosses in the open world, with creatures appearing in one of four zones every hour. Those who take part will be rewarded with achievement progress and agony resistance infusions.
Speaking of rewards, players will earn rewards across twenty-two different reward tiers, with the final reward being the Legendary Weapon Starter Key – Universal. This item will allow players to begin progress on any first-generation legendary weapon.
That’s not all the PvP news the Guild Wars 2 team has for today. After a year of waiting, the Push PvP mode has officially moved out of beta and is available for everyone to play full-time. That said, even though it’s left beta, the devs aren’t done taking feedback from players on it. So, if you come across any issues, be sure to let them know.
