Guild Wars 2 Reveals Details On New Skimmer Mechanics Coming With Visions Of Eternity

When Visions of Eternity launches in Guild Wars 2, it will bring with it the promised updates to skimmers. The changes come as a result of the MMORPG’s new region, where skimmers have adapted to the island environment in order to pick up traits different from those players are already familiar with.

A big difference between these skimmers and those of Elona is that they evolved in an area rich with ley magic, making them incredibly mobile and useful mounts. They’ve developed aetherlocation, which allows them to detect threats (and find hidden treasures when submerged). Their speed can also be increased for a limited time. And, they can use water jets to attack enemies.

Players will need to train their skimmers, effectively leveling them up. Along the way, they’ll teach the skimmer how to use the abilities mentioned above, as well as grant them the ability to ride ley lines.
