Killer In The Cabin Announcement

Norwegian developer Games People Play announced the latest entry into the virtual social deduction genre today and this one doesn’t involve yeeting people into space. That’s not to say you won’t die if the other players think you’re the killer in the group, so if you are, you will need to be careful.

Killer in the Cabin takes place in the Norwegian mountains where a bus crash leaves the players stranded. In order to survive, they’ll need to work together. This includes gathering supplies, obtaining shelter, and managing food. Of course, there’s a spanner in the works in the form of one player who is dead set on eliminating everyone else. If that player wants to survive and remain undetected, they will need to be smart about it.

This isn’t just a stealthy-stabby situation. Imagine you’re the bad guy in a British murder mystery and work from there…only maybe be a bit smarter about it, they always get caught. (And I honestly have no idea where you’d get melted chocolate to dump on someone’s head anyway.)

As with other games of this type, players will use voice chat to communicate and attempt to suss out who the real killer is but be careful. You don’t want the actual killer to be the last person standing when the 15 minutes of playtime is up.

Killer in the Cabin is slated to launch on Steam in November. Before that, there will be a closed beta event that takes place on Halloween. All you need to do to participate is to sign up via the Steam page.
